70-luvulta, päivää! |

Summary:
Last September we were invited to my old friend's and her boyfriend's
birthday party. It was going to be a 90's style dance party, but the
clothes could also be from 60's or 70's. We love all the theme parties
so we wanted to put a lot of effort into our costumes. We thought the 90's attire would be too easy (and it really wasn't that long ago :-D) so we decided to go for 60's/70's.
My dress is authentic 1970's maxi dress which belongs to my mother-in-law. She has also saved her 60s knee length white dress which was really cute but I didn't want to dress in white since I had a feeling that this birthday party could turn out to be a surprise wedding :-). I also borrowed my mother-in-law's 1960s watch that still worked. My wig, 70's style boots, true vintage Christian Dior eyeglasses and a lovely 70's beaded purse are all from eBay.
Juha's shirt and pants are from vintage shop. His glasses are from eBay and his wig and glued chest hair from Punanaamio. Juha had an Zenith Automatic wrist watch. He also made some roll-your-own cigarettes to his vintage cigarette case and had an IMCO lighter (unfortunately none of these are shown in photos).
So when all the guests had arrived we were asked to go outside for a group photo. My hunch was right: when everybody was standing on the deck the couple made a quick dress change and the wedding ceremony began :-) Even the priest was in disguise - he was wearing black sunglasses and an Iron Maiden t-shirt!

We had a tremendous time - What a beautiful and fun wedding!
